Mike The Bike Repairman is now operating as part of The Cycle Hive.
Bike repairs and servicing is a big part of the reason Karen and I ended up in Exmouth, my other business is supplying books onto Ferries and Cruise ships, but back in April 2020 that work stopped overnight, and after doing lots of gardening and DIY and the odd beer during the day, I decided I had an opportunity to develop some new skills.

So I started servicing bikes, under the highly original name of Mike The Bike Repairman. The business grew with the aid of the Gov’t bike repair voucher scheme and getting into refurbishing old bikes to sell.
By 2023 the ships were back sailing and the book business had picked up again, but an idea had formed and over the next 18 months we looked at a number of bikes businesses before coming across The Cycle Hive. And that’s how we ended up moving to Exmouth in 2025.
Having been here a year we are now settled in a bit more and had a successful season with the bike hire. Including being named as a finalist in the Chamber of Commerce business awards, Tourism and Hospitality category.
We are now ready to take the next step and return to servicing bikes. To start with we will be offering a limited number of repair and servicing slots each week, to make sure we can deliver a high quality level of service.
