1. What do I need to bring to hire a bike?

You just need:

  • A form of photo ID (driving licence or passport)
  • A debit or credit card for the security deposit
  • Comfortable clothes suitable for cycling

We provide everything else — bikes, helmets, locks and route guidance — so you can simply turn up and ride.


2. Do I need to book in advance?

Booking in advance is strongly recommended, especially:

  • During school holidays
  • Weekends
  • Sunny days

Pre-booking guarantees your bike size and type is reserved for you. On the day booking are welcome when availability allows, but popular days do sell out.


3. Are your bikes suitable for children and families?

Yes — families are a huge part of what we do.

We offer:

  • Children’s bikes
  • Tag-alongs / child trailers / child seats
  • Easy-to-ride electric bikes for adults
  • And dog trailers, so the whole family can come

The Exe Estuary Trail is mostly flat, traffic-free and ideal for families, making it safe and enjoyable for all ages.


4. Where can we ride? Is it safe?

You’ll be riding one of the UK’s best traffic-free cycle routes.

The Exe Estuary Trail offers:

It’s perfect for relaxed riding, families, and anyone who wants to explore Devon without stress.


5. What happens if it rains or I need to cancel?

We understand plans change.

If the weather is unsafe or you need to cancel, just let us know in advance and we’ll:

  • Move your booking to another day
  • Or issue a refund in line with our cancellation policy

We always try to be flexible — especially for families and holiday visitors.
